heatdive

thermal recovery routines

the benefits of heat and cold, made accessible: dosed, repeated, evidence-based.

mission

Heat and cold are not an experience. They are a dose.

Training runs on programmes. Nutrition runs on macros. Sleep runs on wearables. Recovery is still sold as a mood, not as a protocol. heatdive works in that gap: heat and cold as a tool, dosed and repeated, with the evidence attached.

Dose

How much. Temperature and duration, set per session and not left to chance.

Frequency

How often. Repetition is the method, not the single visit.

Evidence

Every statement carries a number, a source and a dose. Even when the number is smaller than hoped.

why

The effect of heat and cold is documented in cohorts and controlled studies, and almost no one reaches the dose at which it sets in. Cabins and pools have long been there; they only become accessible with dose, frequency and evidence. The bottleneck is not the room, but the repetition.

That is why heatdive shows two things. The Sauna Finder shows where cabins and pools are near you, so that repetition does not fail on the way there. The evidence shows what studies have measured, with comparison group and source, so that the dose has a record behind it.

    Questions about heatdive

    What is heatdive?

heatdive treats heat and cold as a tool: dosed, repeated and with the evidence attached. It collects the evidence on sauna, heat and cold, describes protocols by temperature, duration and frequency, and shows where they can be put into practice.

Where does the information come from?

From published sources. Each one sits in the evidence register with its own ID, the journal, the study design and what it does not show. A statement on heatdive always points back to its source, even when the result is smaller than hoped.

    Does heatdive give medical advice?

No. heatdive reports what studies measured and does not prescribe anything. Many of these studies are observational: they show associations, not causes. With a pre-existing condition, the question of heat and cold belongs with a doctor, not with a website.

    Is heatdive only about sauna?

No. Heat is the umbrella term: sauna, infrared, steam and hot baths. Sauna means the concrete room. Cold belongs to the system as well, from cold water to the contrast between heat and cold.

How do places get on the map?

Places come from public sources and from reports by visitors. Every report is reviewed before a place appears on the map. A missing sauna, thermal bath or spa can be reported free of charge.

What happens if the details of a place are wrong?

Every place page has a link to suggest a change. Only the fields marked as incorrect are sent, and each change is checked before it goes live.
